Dip | Easy Homemade Hummus Recipe | Dip Delivered

Making homemade hummus is so easy. You will be asking yourself why you didn't do this earlier. This is the base hummus recipe for all of our dry dip mix packages that we sell and the easiest way to prepare hummus at home for parties and appetizers.

You will need:

  • 1 can (15 ounces) of chickpeas
  • 1 tablespoon of virgin olive oil
  • 3/4 of a cup of water (we like to use the water from the can of chickpeas)

1. Super simple, just add the chickpeas to a blender or food processor (blender works best) 

2. Add the olive oil

3. blend the mixture while adding the water a little at a time until the mixture starts folding into itself then you know you added enough water. It should look like the consistency of a thick malt or smoothie. You can add more or less water depending on how thick you want your hummus but 3/4 cup should do the trick.

4. empty hummus into a bowl and enjoy! The mix can remain covered in refrigerator for up to a week.

We like to add dry mix seasoning packages from Dip Delivered after the hummus is in a bowl. Just use a fork to add flavors like Sweet Chili, Everything Bagel, Red and Green Pepper or Lemon and garlic. These dry mix packages from Dip Delivered are perfectly proportioned for 1 - 15 ounce can of chickpeas and taste great after they had a chance to settle into the blended hummus mix for 30 minutes covered in the refrigerator.

They pair well with tortilla chips, pita bread, pita chips or pretzels.
